Erika Ireland grew up in La Jolla, CA and Lahaina, Maui. Her formative years spent surfing, swimming and frolicking on the beaches of California and Maui, as well as modeling swimwear, fueled Erika’s desire to create swimwear that was functional, yet extremely flattering.
"I am having so much fun designing the Hula-la collections. I just love that I am able to design swimwear that makes women feel great about themselves and their bodies. I am constantly hearing from women and girls of all ages and body types about how excited they are to finally find a suit that fits them so well," says Ireland.
Surprisingly, Erika has a background in business and law, in addition to fashion. She served as a District Attorney for several years before following her dream to create beautiful swimwear that looks great in and out of the water.
Erika currently resides on the beachfront in Kailua,
Hawaii with her husband Rolf and her newborn daughter Harlequinn Jade. You will likely find her out on the beach gathering inspiration for her newest collection or putting one of her latest designs to the test out in the surf.
